Privacy notice: ZEST social media tools

This notice explains how ZESTOLOGY BV ("ZEST", "we") handles personal data when our team uses its own social media tools, including the Meta app "ZEST Scheduler and Messaging", to publish and manage content on the social media accounts we manage. It adds to our general privacy policy.

What the tools do

The tools are used only by our own team. They connect to the Facebook Pages, Instagram accounts and LinkedIn pages we manage, through the official interfaces of Meta and LinkedIn. We use them to prepare and publish our posts, and to read and answer the comments and messages people send to our accounts. They are not offered to the public, and nobody outside our team can log in to them.

What data we process

• Details of the accounts we manage: page and account names and IDs, and the permissions our team members give the tools.
• The content we publish: text, images and video.
• When you interact with our accounts: your public profile name or username and the content of your comment or message, so that we can read it and reply.

We do not collect your contacts, friends lists or private profile details, and we take nothing from your own account beyond what you post or send to our pages.

Why we process it

To run our social media channels and to answer the people who contact us. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in communicating about our products and replying to questions (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where the law requires consent, for example before sending marketing messages, we ask for it first.

Who receives it

We do not sell this data. It is handled by Meta and LinkedIn, on whose platforms the content lives, and by the technical service providers that host our tools.

How long we keep it

Comments and messages stay on the platform where you posted them, under that platform's own rules. Our tools keep technical logs only for a limited time, to find and fix errors.

Your rights and how to have your data deleted

You can ask us for access to your personal data, for its correction or deletion, or object to its use. Email info@zestspices.eu with the name of the account you used and what you would like us to do. We reply within 30 days. You can also delete your own comments and messages on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn at any time.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
